On Monday 3/31, my wife received a call from a representative offering us a free air cleaning system. In doubt, I asked my wife to hand me the phone so I could confirm with the representative. I asked if this was really free and she said yes. I also asked whether they would be asking us to buy anything and she said no, they would only ask us to use the system then provide opinions later about the product.
On 4/1, a sales lady showed up with the Rainbow system. She wanted us to watch a 5 minute video showing how bad dust can be. After the video, she demonstrated how wonderful the Rainbow system was. At the end, she asked us whether we want to pay $2,300 by credit card or by check. If we could not afford, she would allow us to make incremental payments. Being so disappointed because I thought it was free, I refused to buy it. The lady was even more disaapointed than I was and said things such as asking me: "Don't you care about the health of your family?" then turned to my wife and asked "How did you marry this guy?" This lady then asked to borrow our phone to call her headquaters and loudly talking on the phone repeating things like "He thinks it's too much for the well being of his children."
In summary, this company lied to me by offering a free product then expected me to pay $2,300 for it. After refusing to pay, I am accused of being a terrible husband and an evil father.

I have the previous model... my mom loved it so I let her have it, brought me a Dyson since I now had carpet.... don't care for the Dyson after having had a rainbow. Miss my rainbow and thinking about buying myself another one. Suction is great, it is wet/dry, and it collects the dirt in water avoiding dust when emptying ( I hate the Dyson for this,,, it is aweful) and if something got accidently sucked in.. you can retrieve it quickly. Only problem....WAYYYYYYYYYYYY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!! The machines are great but borderline worth the price. TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know if I can afford another now.

I wanted to comment on the story told by the "evil Father". The sales rep wasn't lying to you. The RainMATE (a small table-top air cleaner/freshener) is offered for "free" by the company if a prospect helps set up two appointments to demonstrate the Rainbow. When the last demo is finished, a free Rainmate is given to the prospect that made the appointments possible. The RainBOW itself is NEVER offered for "free". You CAN "earn" a Rainbow if you become active as a sales rep yourself. Somehow there was a lack of communication between the "evil Father" and the Rainbow rep. I hope this clarifies the situation. The Rainmate offered "free"; the Rainbow offered for a PRICE. I will say in defense of the "evil Father" that the rep should have been more tactful. You catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar...
